What is the minimum order quantity?

At JinHai, we define MOQ based on different harness types. Below are JinHai’s internal minimum order quantities:

Is there a charge for samples?JinHai offers two options for your consideration.

  1. Simple, low-value samples: If you express strong intent to collaborate with JinHai (typically by providing detailed drawings, clear quantity requirements, and a delivery schedule), we charge 50% of the standard sample price. We commit to deducting this sample cost from the bulk order payment upon subsequent order placement.
  2. Complex, high-value samples: For products involving hundreds of circuits, specialized connectors, or expensive shielding layers, we charge standard sample fees. However, we commit to refunding the sample cost if your subsequent order exceeds 10 times the sample value.

Sample Lead Time

  • Upon receiving your sample request, JinHai will complete sample production within 1-3 weeks and ship it to your location via international express delivery.

At JinHai, we only support three payment methods:

  1. FOB + 100% advance T/T
  2. OB + Deposit (30%-50%) + Balance (70%-50%) upon receipt of copy of B/L via T/T
  3. FOB + Letter of Credit (L/C)

  1. Small-batch custom orders (100–500 pieces): Due to lower volumes and the need to procure many raw materials on a spot basis, pre-production preparation takes longer. Lead times typically range from 2 to 5 weeks.
  2. Large-volume custom orders (over 1,000 units): Due to the large order quantity and significant raw material requirements, some materials are sourced from distributors. This may necessitate adjusting allocation ratios or require factory time for verification. Therefore, the typical production cycle ranges from 8 to 20 weeks. Additionally, the cycle may extend due to special circumstances (e.g., shipping weather conditions, tariff fluctuations).

Regarding bulk order discounts, JinHai offers multiple discount options for your selection:

  1. Direct Price Discount: We provide tiered pricing based on order quantity (e.g., 1K, 5K, 10K, 50K). Unit prices decrease with order volume, offering the most transparent pricing feedback.
  2. Free Product Allocation: We provide complimentary products based on order quantity. For example, with a 10K order, we include 10 free units as spares.
  3. Logistics Support: For orders exceeding 5K units, we may cover 20% of local transportation costs (to Chinese customs).
  4. Engineering Support: While ensuring product performance and reliability, we may utilize more cost-effective materials or implement minor design adjustments, sharing the resulting cost savings with you.

We need specific information, such as material, size, thickness, and quantity. Ideally, you can provide drawings. For simple products, sketches are also acceptable.

Do you support customized designs?

Yes, we offer full-process customized design services, but require clients to provide clear technical input documents to ensure precise alignment with requirements. Below are the specific requirements and collaboration process:

  • Required Input Documents:
    1. Electrical Schematic: Specify wire gauge, connector models, fuse/relay locations, etc.;
    2. 2D Layout Diagram: Specify branch dimensions, cable tie attachment points, protective material specifications, and shielding requirements;
    3. Application Environment Parameters: Indicate operating temperature range, vibration conditions, waterproof rating, and EMC requirements;
  • Customization Service Process:
    1. Our company requires 1-3 business days to confirm the harness’s operating environment, application scenarios, and special requirements;
    2. After providing 3D simulation drawings and 2D flat patterns, our company requires 5-10 business days for design verification. We can assist with initial revisions and iterations (up to 3 free rounds).
    3. Sample Production: After design verification, we require 7-15 business days for raw material procurement and sample fabrication. Sample quantity: 1-3 pieces (prototyping fees apply upfront, but can be offset against bulk production costs). Samples shipped with harness appearance and continuity test reports.
    4. Batch Delivery Cycle: Small batches (>100 pieces) require 15-20 days. Large batches (>1000 pieces) require 30-45 days (partial shipments possible).

  3. International Sea Freight: The most prevalent shipping method in international trade, suitable for bulk order shipments with flexible containerization options.
  4. International Rail Transport: Also suitable for bulk order shipments, primarily serving the China-Europe corridor.
  1. Moisture Prevention Measures: At JinHai, wiring harnesses are packaged in cardboard boxes.
    • Internal Moisture Protection: Two methods are used—PE bags or aluminum foil bags (specific method determined by customer specification or provision)—with three desiccant packets per box for additional moisture control.
    • External Moisture Protection: After final packaging, products are placed on pallets for shipment. Prior to dispatch, goods on pallets receive secondary protection with stretch wrap.
  2. Shock Absorption Solutions:During transit, wiring harnesses experience vibrations and jostling. To prevent damage to critical connectors, JinHai offers enhanced shock absorption solutions:
    • Wrapping entire harnesses in bubble wrap for protection;
    • Using custom-shaped EVA foam to wrap harnesses or as padding/separators;
    • Employ custom-molded foam liners specifically designed for high-value wiring harnesses.

All packaging methods listed above are provided by JinHai. Should customers specify alternative packaging requirements, we will strictly adhere to those instructions.

How to Handle Quality Issues or Returns

At JinHai, if shipped goods develop quality issues, we generally handle them through the following three approaches:

  1. If the product is irreparable, JinHai will directly reship a replacement to the customer;
  2. If the product is repairable, JinHai will coordinate with the customer to arrange for a third-party service provider approved by the customer to handle the repair, with all associated costs borne by JinHai;
  3. For standard orders, JinHai will provide complimentary products equivalent to 0.1% of the order value for future maintenance or replacement purposes.
  • Incoming Material Inspection
    • Wires and terminals are sampled and tested based on the supplier’s shipping report to verify wire strand count, wire diameter, color, terminal plating thickness, and dimensions. Connectors are sampled and tested for dimensional compliance against official drawings.
  • Process Inspection
    • Wire Cutting/Crimping Process: Initial, patrol, and final inspections are conducted per CP requirements. Patrol inspections occur at a frequency of 2 hours per shift.
    • Pre-assembly Process: Insertion follows the “insert, listen twice, pull back” procedure.
    • Assembly Process: First, verify seal installation. Second, confirm secondary locking of connectors and primary locking of terminals.
  • Final Inspection
    • Inspectors conduct 100% dimensional checks of harnesses using tape measures/steel rulers;
    • Perform 100% electrical functionality testing on finished harnesses using dedicated harness electrical test benches;
    • Quality inspectors conduct final checks on harness appearance, material integrity (clips/tie wraps), label content, and clarity;
    • The Quality Department periodically samples from qualified products for more stringent full-dimension measurements and functional testing to ensure production process stability;
  • Traceability Assurance
    • Each harness is assigned a unique label serial number, traceable through the labeling system. This enables rapid identification of the source and isolation of problematic products in the event of an issue.

Fully automatic crimping

Fully automatic crimping is the process of crimping the wire and the terminal together. This process is the most core and important process in the entire wire harness manufacturing process.

JinHai manufacturers prefer to use fully automatic crimping equipment, which is fast, convenient and effective.

For terminal crimping, JinHai uses different methods, especially:

Pre-Assembly
